There was a lot happening tonight in the marsh. It was warm and humid. I’ll take it over the cold walks to the marsh that we have had up until this point. My husband joined me tonight. We were unsettled by an upset racoon toward the end of listening to calls. Not positive it was an racoon but not sure what else it would have been. Most nights when my husband comes with the walks are longer. We walked to another area of the lake and saw a few owls flying around. It’s peaceful walking at night when everyone is asleep or inside.

The frogs have mostly migrated further into the field so my recordings aren’t as clear. I have no plans on walking through a marsh with tall grass to get a better recording. About two acres of the land belongs to the town but it’s all tall grass and marsh. Not a fan of ticks or destroying habitats. Since it was warmer and humid I had high hopes of seeing some frogs on our walk to and from the marsh. We spotted some Gray Treefrogs. I’m going to default to calling them Gray Treefrogs and not assume they are Cope’s Gray Treefrogs. I do hear both frogs calling. I don’t want to pick up the frogs for pictures to see if I can determine which frog they are since I am not sure how to properly handle the frogs at this point.
