When listening for calls I’m always in awe looking over the tall grass and seeing the fireflies. When the sky is clear and the stars are visible it’s a beautiful sight. My husband joined me and sauntered on down to the marsh to listen to calls. There are some interesting other noises in the evening we need to figure out. The frogs have moved from the marshy field over to the swampy, small boat launch area across the street. I was able to get some nice recordings there. Usually there’s water flowing out of a drainage pipe from the marsh to the boat launch but it hasn’t been raining much. Tonight we heard Cope’s Gray Tree Frogs, Gray Tree Frogs, and Green Frogs. It was dry out, the sky was clear, and no wind.
