It has been chilly out! I’m a little behind on uploading recordings. We’ve been walking down to the our frog call location the minimal amount of times per week due to the weather. The temperature is below average and the typical Spring time rain is unpleasant when this cold. Every time we go frogging I seem to learn something new with recording calls and what is causing interference.

The recording from last night isn’t great due to the wind direction causing freeway noise to drift our way, but I love this recording because of being able to hear the individual calls. The Northern Leopard frogs make me chuckle, silently when recording, when I hear their call.

Frog Calls

Full chorus of Spring Peepers, Boreal Chorus frogs, and a few Norther Leopard frogs (maybe just one) calling on a windy night. The way the wind was blowing caused noise to drift from the freeway a few miles away but it is a clear recording of which frogs were out this evening.

Youtube definitely isn’t the best sound quality. It seems that the sounds becomes distorted when uploaded. I might move away from Youtube in the future.
