Should name this post “Hopping Up”. That sounds more frog-like. Last night the Green Frogs were in full chorus and I could hear them from my backyard. Green Frogs don’t typically call this close to home. We usually start to hear them closer to the lake since that is typically where they mate. This year I’ve heard them in the marsh area, and less on the lake side of the road.
The recording from June 16th is loud and full of chatter. A Tree Frog was calling in front of my recorder. That sound hits a bit hard when reviewing the calls with my headphones. On the 16th it was a calm night and 71℉. We heard Green Frogs, Gray and Cope’s Tree Frogs, Toads, and the Boreal Chorus Frogs are still out there.
